What help can Physicians provide to someone who is diagnosed with CIS in those who have MS without just treating the symptoms as they appear?

I am 58 years of age with symptoms that began appearing in 2003. Fast forward to 2022 I was finally diagnosed with MS CIS. I have 1 lesion located in my L-spine so there’s no disease modifying therapy for me. My symptoms have progressively gotten worse over the years which is why I am physically unable to perform my duties as a nurse and am now disabled.
